Australian Perspectives on Infrastructure is an Australian-first series of surveys, first run in 2021, seeking community views on how community members are being impacted by the selection, design and delivery of Australia’s $292 billion infrastructure roll-out.
Over 6,000 Australian community members responded to our first survey series, helping to complete a picture that the ANU Institute for Infrastructure in Society (I2S) started to form in 2017 with industry through its flagship Next Generation Engagement Research Program.
If we’re going to efficiently deliver Australia’s current pipeline of major projects in a way that delivers the best possible community outcomes, it is important to have a better understanding of communities’ concerns about these projects and the community needs that are arising from this unprecedented period of intensive infrastructure development.
That’s why we invited community members to share their experiences with us through Australian Perspectives on Infrastructure.
Read about the findings and check out our State of Infrastructure and Engagement Reports, based on industry responses, to get a 360-degree picture of the relationship between proponents and communities.
Australian Perspectives on Infrastructure was delivered from 2021 to 2023 in partnership with social research firm Voconiq. Read all the results in our Publications library.
